What we are already doing

We began our efforts more than a decade ago with significant investments in tangible environmental actions across our entire value chain.

Supply Chain

JBS already monitor of cattle supply chain and it has now developed a tool for monitoring their suppliers too.

Since 2009, the Monitoring System of JBS evaluates, every day, 80,000 cattle supplier farms in Brazil to prevent illegal deforestation, the use of forced labor, and the invasion of indigenous lands or environmental conservation units, among the Company’s other socioenvironmental criteria. Monitoring is geo-referenced using satellite imagery to cover an area of 85 million hectares, greater than the territory of France, the largest country of Western Europe.

Innovation and Sustainability

Kind Leather

A sustainable leather brand that tackles key sustainability initiatives, like the 90% reduction in solid waste generated, savings of 62% in the consumption of energy and 52% in water in Brazil.

Green Flooring

Developed by the R&D area of JBS Ambiental, which recycles plastic generated as a waste from our facilities, converting it into material for the civil construction sector. Shavings of multilayer packaging (PVDC), the plastic used in vacuum-sealed raw products, and which is difficult to recycle, are used to manufacture interlocking floor panels ideal for use in external environments such as patio surfacing.
