JBS ORGANIZES 1st REGIONAL MEETING FOR SEARA OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY ENGINEERS
The meeting was organized as a team-building effort, reinforcing the company’s approach to health
and safety and was an opportunity to discuss health and safety routines at individual units
Seara held the 1st Regional Meeting for Occupational Safety Engineers from October 22 to 26. The event was held in São Paulo and Santa Catarina. The event was a team-building exercise and opportunity to reinforce the company’s approach to safety as well as bolster the PSSAG (Health and Safety Self-Management Program).
The event was attended by company engineers, leaders from the corporate Health and Safety area and HR and Legal experts. “The Regional Meeting for Occupational Safety Engineers was an opportunity to discuss life’s three big questions – should I, can I and do I want to? – with others. The experiences we shared helped us come to the conclusion that human beings are not the finished articles, we are all involved in a constant process of humanization”, said Nata Holdefer, the engineer coordinating Occupation Safety in Ipumirim (SC).
The participants said they enjoyed being able to meet their peers in person and especially having an opportunity to talk about their day-to-day routines at their respective plants. “Even though this was a very technical event, the issues raised were dealt with in an approachable way, helping us to take new information on board and discuss occupational safety”, said Mauro Cordeiro de Santana, the engineer coordinating Occupation Safety in Dourados (MS).
“Nothing can replace personal interactions. The ability to communicate with other people (“looking them in the eye”) helps build synergy and trust. Technology is great at simplifying things and speeding them up, but it cannot replace the human need to interact at a personal level with other human beings”, said Anderson Alux Bordini, the engineer coordinating Occupation Safety in Passos (MG).
