JBS ETHICS LINE NOW ACCEPTS REPORTS OF ANIMAL WELFARE AND PRODUCT QUALITY BREACHES

Any breach of the Company’s Animal Welfare and Product Quality policies can be reported via the channel

On October 14, the JBS Compliance Department began a campaign to mark the launch of the new JBS Ethics Line program. In addition to a new, revamped visual identity, the channel now analyses reports detailing breaches of Animal Welfare and Product Quality policies.

“When we first introduced the channel, we ran a communication campaign to ensure Team Members were aware of the tool and acquired the habit of using it whenever necessary. We believe this new campaign will increase the scope of information we receive”, said Carla Montenegro, coordinator of Compliance at JBS.

Created in 2017, the channel was initially developed to report misconduct involving: Use of Assets, Moral Harassment, Confidential Information, Gifts and Presents, Corruption and Bribery, Diversity and Inclusion, Sexual Harassment and Conflicts of Interests. Now, the channel can also be used to report non-compliance with Animal Welfare and Product Quality policies, two of the Company’s main tenets.

When the JBS Ethics Line receives a complaint, it is categorized and sent to specific departments for appropriate action. The completely independent program is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week. In addition to these new reporting facilities, Team members can also listen to a podcast discussing the areas covered by the program.
