SEARA RECEIVES JOSÉ PASCHOAL BAGGIO ENTREPRENEUR AWARD

Lages unit (SC) was chosen for its contribution to the local economy

Sao Paulo, November 30, 2018 – Following on from its commitment to supporting social and economic development in Lages, Seara has been selected for the José Paschoal Baggio Entrepreneur Award, organized by the Correio Lageano newspaper. The award was based on the company’s support for the local economy over the past 32 years.

Seara arrived in this city, located in Santa Catarina, in 1986 and is one of the companies that has offered most support to the regional economy. The unit currently employs 740 people. The Lages plant is located on the BR 116 highway in the city’s industrial zone. It is one of Seara’s most strategically located units and responsible for manufacturing many of the company’s value-added products.

Over the past three years, the unit has received several investments to increase its production capacity. The food manufactured in the region, particularly lasagnas and pizzas, can be found in Brazilian homes across the entire country.

The Seara partnership with the city of Lages still has much to offer, not only for the local economy, but for the entire state of Santa Catarina, one of Brazil’s largest food producers.

The Entrepreneur Award was created in 1999 by José Paschoal Baggio, then director of the Correio Lageano, who always believed in Santa Catarina’s future development. As a result, he decided to create an award for regional entrepreneurship.
