RESULTS FROM THE NELORE CIRCUIT OF QUALITY PHASE HELD AT FRIBOI IN LINS (SP)

670 males were assessed at the event

Sao Paulo, September 7 2019 – The Brazilian Association of Nelore Breeders (ACNB), in partnership with the local Association of Nelore Breeders (APCN), announces the winners of the phase of the Nelore Circuit of Quality, held on September 3rd and 4th at the Friboi unit in Lins (SP).

In total, this phase of the Circuit assessed 670 males from seven breeders. “The average weight of the carcasses was of 20.9 arrobas, 89.9% of the animals had up to two permanent incisor teeth, and 63% of the animals had their deciduous teeth. Additionally, 58.5% of the animals presented medium or uniform fat cover,” says Gustavo Callejon, technical assistant at ACNB, responsible for the assessment.

At the Lins phase, the best Male Carcass batch (Gold Medal) was from the breeder Sérgio Przepiorka, who took to the slaughter 100% of the animals with up to two permanent incisor teeth, average weight of 20.2 arrobas and 92.6% with medium or uniform fat cover.

The Silver Medal went to Fábio Tognon, and the breeder Jorge Custódio de Souza Neto won the Bronze Medal.

The Gold Medal batch will receive 500 kg of mineral supplements from Matsuda Sementes e Nutrição Animal, to be delivered at the property with follow-up by the company’s technical team.

Nelore Circuit of Quality

Held by the Brazilian Association of Nelore Breeders (ACNB), the Nelore Circuit of Quality strengthens and promotes the genetics and meat of this breed of animals, contributing to increase the productivity of the Brazilian cattle breeding. It is an initiative that assesses results achieved by the breeders, each one in their reality and production system.

Promoted since 1999, this year the initiative is supported by Matsuda and Friboi. With this, the Circuit expanded and will have 27 phases in 10 Brazilian states in 2019. Approximately 20,000 animals shall be assessed until the end of the year, achieving a record number since the launch of the Circuit.

Next phases

In September, in addition to Lins, the Nelore Circuit of Quality has another four phases: Ituiutaba (MG), Iturama (MG), Marabá (PA), and Diamantino (MT). For more information: www.nelore.org.br/circuitonelore.
