Sao Paulo, December 8, 2016 – JBS has launched the Management Connection program to improve the management capabilities of mid-size livestock breeders Partnering with the Inttegra Institute, the pilot project is intended to assist livestock breeders manage their farms on a day-to-day basis, helping improve efficiency throughout the beef production chain.
The first group will include ten livestock breeders based in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul who were selected from among JBS’s suppliers and provide between 300 and 2 thousand animals for slaughter annually. From January, the selected farms will receive an initial diagnostic visit from a team of professionals trained by the Inttegra Institute. The farms will be monitored monthly be a specialist consultant, who will record their performance to check progress on the targets that have been set. Furthermore, the producers will receive support from specialists and attend quarterly meetings to analyze, compare and debate the outcomes.
“We want this project to increase producer awareness that to boost productivity, they need to apply and develop management techniques for day-to-day farm activities. As a result, they can be more competitive and guarantee end consumer satisfaction, producing quality meat and making efficient use of their resources”, said Eduardo Pedroso, executive director of sourcing at JBS.
After six months of tests, new producers will be invited to take part in the project and all lessons learned will be shared through talks, with content specifically developed for distance learning and information manuals for breeders. The initiative is part of the JBS Connection platform that was launched in 2014, offering a range of tools that help increase efficiency in every link of the beef production chain, from breeders to the end consumer.
