Sao Paulo, November 18, 2019 – To further stress its commitment with this issue, JBS launched, on the World Animal Day, celebrated on October 4th, an institutional Animal Welfare seal. This certificate symbolizes and unifies the discussions and initiatives in all Company businesses in Brazil, including the three animal proteins worked by the Friboi and Seara operations (beef, poultry and pork).
The seal will be applied to all internal and external materials that permeate the practices related to the issue. The uniforms of team members who work directly with animal handling, in addition to graphic communication items shared with the production plants and Animal Welfare kits distributed to cattle breeders and integrated producers are a few examples of it.
The new visual identity is part of the Company’s strategy to raise the importance of the topic to a new level, including practices implemented by Friboi and Seara in Brazil around the subject. The launch was part of the schedule of actions developed in October for the annual internal campaign “Animal Welfare: I Respect and Enforce It.”
The theme is one of the four strategic pillars worked globally by JBS. Last year alone, the Company invested BRL 88.2 million to enhance its activities related to Animal Welfare in all its operations.
JBS is one of the world’s leading food industry companies with approximately 230 thousand employees in 15 countries.
