Company starts sales to São Tomé and Príncipe and plans to increase sales to Angola by up to 300% in 12 months


Sao Paulo, September 12, 2018 – JBS Higiene & Limpeza has started selling bars of soap to São Tomé and Príncipe, in Africa. In just a few months, containers with over 80 tons of the product have been shipped.


The company, the biggest producer of soap in bars and soaps for hygiene and industry in Brazil, expects to increase sales to these countries by around 70% by the end of the year.

In 2018, the division resumed sales to Angola, where ten containers were sent (230 tons) and it expects sales to rise by up to 300% over the next 12 months.

Exports reinforce the division’s strategy to increase its share of the export market. “Opening contracts on the African continent reflects our approach to the global market. We are also looking at opportunities on other continents”, said Israel Morales, director of the JBS Higiene & Limpeza division.

JBS Higiene & Limpeza division produces the base mass for vegetable or animal and glycerin-based solid and liquid soaps and has high capacity production lines. The company supplies some of the biggest manufacturers in Brazil, has over 50 customers worldwide and also exports to Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Angola, São Tomé and Príncipe and Uruguay.
