JBS Couros unveils new collection at Lineapelle 2020

The international fair was held in Milan, Italy, between February 19 and 21

São Paulo, March 6, 2020 – JBS Couros, the world’s largest leather processing company, showcased its products at Lineapelle, an international fair held in Milan, Italy, between February 19 and 21. The Company took the opportunity to launch its Market of Fashion Spring-Summer 2021 collection. Inspired by sustainability, the collection focuses on how to better use resources and avoid waste, transforming everything and throwing nothing away.

The new leather goods range, was designed by the Company’s Italian business unit Conceria Priante, and has been designed for the luxury segment, particularly in markets such as Europe, the US and Asia. The range is based around four central themes. Handmade alludes to pure craftsmanship. Market of Essential is a journey through the colors and sensations involved in memory. Life of Stones refers to the world of precious stones and minerals that give us light and unique sensations. Pixel Around shows the whole world is made of pixels, everything around us is an infinite matrix of dots.

JBS Couros invests in technology and innovation to develop higher added value products which are more versatile and make better use of our materials for clients and create pioneering sustainable production concepts. This approach reflects the organic future of fashion and is based around a focus on ethics and nature’s requirements.

“Sustainability is a constant throughout the collection. What would be solid waste for our clients ends up being used on other markets. We throw nothing away, we use and transform everything”, said Cezar Gernhardt, Conceria Priante’s CEO and JBS Couros’ Sales Director.

The Spring-Summer 2021 Market of Fashion collection was produced using the Kind Leather concept, the overall highlight on the Conceria Priante stand at the event. The numbers show Kind Leather is the industry’s biggest sustainability project. Its production process can reduce wet-blue shipping CO2 emissions by up to 65%. The tanning process uses up to 46% less water and 42% fewer chemical products. The finishing stage uses 28% less chemicals. Additionally, the entire process reduces trimming waste by 51% and energy consumption by 20% compared with traditional methods.
