São Paulo, April 8, 2019 – The Nelore Quality Circuit, which the Brazilian Nelore Breeders’ Association (ACNB) has been organizing since 1999, will have 23 phases in 2019 in 10 Brazilian states and plans to assess 20 thousand carcasses this year. This is the first year the Circuit is being organized in partnership with Friboi and it has doubled in size. This is the biggest ever edition of the event since it began, 20 years ago. There were 11 phases last year, when 8,852 carcasses were assessed.
“This partnership is intended to implement initiatives and provide tools to help livestock breeders improve their indicators, increase their profits and help further strengthen the Nelore breed and Brazilian livestock farming. Everyone is a winner: breeders, industry, consumers and the country”, said Nabih Amin El Aouar, President of the ACNB.
The first stage of the 2019 edition was held on March 19 and 20 in Campo Grande (MS), where around a thousand animals from Friboi suppliers were slaughtered. After the carcasses have been classified, the best farmers are rewarded based on the quality of their meat. “The carcass assessment process is an objective one, with indicators that take into account animal age, fat finishing and weight”, said Fábio Dias, Friboi’s Farmer Relations director.
The ACNB and Friboi will be handing out prizes to the winning farmers on April 6 at the first phase of Expogrande, one of Brazil’s biggest livestock events, which is being held from April 4 to 14 in Campo Grande (MS). Friboi will also be organizing a promotional action at the Comper Supermarket in Campo Grande for the Maturatta Friboi brand, using meat produced during the first phase of the Circuit.
During Expogrande, the company will also be working with the supermarket to continue the promotion for Matturata Friboi, one of Brazil’s leading high quality Nelore brands.
Expansion of the Nelore Quality Circuit following Friboi’s decision to partner with the ACNB in February this year. The Circuit is sponsored by Matsuda Sementes e Nutrição Animal.
