Sao Paulo, 19 October, 2018 – Ahead of the 2018 edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is being held next month, two Chinese TV stations visited JBS facilities in Brazil this week. The schedule included a visit to the JBS Carnes plant in Andradina (SP), which is certified to export to China. The visitors were given a first-hand opportunity to see the Friboi brand launch in Chinese. The journalists also visited the company head office and interviewed Renato Costa, CEO of JBS Carnes.
The first broadcaster to visit last Monday (15) was Shanghai Television, followed by CCTV (China Central Television), the largest Asian broadcaster with over 50 channels and a global audience of over 1 billion people, on Wednesday (17).
The reports focused mainly on trade ties between Brazil and China in the animal protein sector. During these interviews with both channels, Renato Costa highlighted the importance of the Chinese market, one of the company’s main export destinations, and the outlook for further business opportunities with China.
“Every time I visit China and see the streets, airports and train stations full of people, it makes me happy because it shows this is a great consumer market. This is a highly strategic region for JBS and we believe we will be able to finalize additional partnerships at the CIEE. We will be launching the Friboi brand in China during the fair, a move that reflects China’s importance to the Company”, he said.
