Seara at Itaiópolis sponsors race against AIDS

Third edition of the event had the participation of 40 Team Members

Promoting well-being and encouraging the practice of sports and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. With this goal, the “Rustic Race on the Fight Against AIDS” (“Corrida Rústica contra a AIDS”) got to its third edition. Organized by the city government of Itaiópolis (Santa Catarina state) and sponsored by Seara, the event was held on December 1st in a circuit that included the city’s main streets.

This edition had the participation from 40 Team Members from the Seara plant in the city, as well as members of the project “Solidarity Legs” (“Pernas Solidárias”), which aims at including people on wheelchairs in street races with the help of volunteers. The race is divided into two categories: 5km and 10km (men and women).

Maria Ofélia Schneider, HR Analyst, was one of the Team Members who participated on the event. “Three years ago, running changed my life, and since then I practice this sport. I can say that there certainly are several benefits. The merit is all yours, but all race partners cheer and celebrate each other’s achievements,” says Maria Ofélia.

Part of the money collected with registrations for the race is sent to volunteer firefighters and to the Association of Parents and Friends of People with Special Needs (Apae) in Itaiópolis.
