JBS Novos Negócios Team Members participate in ecological challenge in São Paulo countryside

During the event, students from local schools presented their “Used oil: correct disposal and reuse” project

On November 14, the Óleo Amigo program (“Friendly Oil”) joined Ecodesafios, an event organized by the Board of Education of the city of Lins, located in the state of São Paulo. During the event, state school students (from the 8th and 9th grades) displayed projects and videos based on the theme of “Used oil: correct disposal and reuse”.

Professors from Lins universities assessed the students’ projects, which were developed in partnership with the Óleo Amigo program and awarded the winning duo with notebooks. Luciane Martins, HR director at JBS Novos Negócios, and Tatiana Souza, Logistics supervisor at JBS Biodiesel and manager of the program, represented the Company at Ecodesafios.

Óleo Amigo is a joint initiative organized by JBS Ambiental and JBS Biodiesel that collects used kitchen oil and arranges initiatives to reduce the impact used oil has on the environment by raising awareness and teaching people how to dispose of it correctly.

The Ecodesafios project has been challenging students to develop solutions for local environmental issues since 2012.
