The Board of Directors of JBS now has two female members. Leila Abraham Loria, who also sits on the board of the Brazilian Corporate Governance Institute, was elected independent director of the world’s second-largest food company and global leader in protein at the end of April.
Besides Loria, JBS already had Alba Pettengill in the Board of Directors, who was re-elected and remains on the group.
With an additional female presence on the board of JBS, plus the recent hiring of RM Consulting, of Rachel Maia, to deal with issues involving racial equality, gender and PwD, and the adherence to the Movimento Mulheres 360 in the search for experiences of how to expand equality, these initiatives are intended to promote diversity and expand the participation of women within the company.
