JBS hygiene and cleaning unit invests in robots to increase production efficiency

Division has benefitted from investment in automated procedures are training to improve processes.

 

Sao Paulo, March 1, 2017 – JBS Higiene & Limpeza is investing in industrial automation as a strategy to improve its business.  The company recently purchased 12 new robots, five of them for product boxing and seven to load boxes onto wooden pallets. The machines can also monitor yields from industrial lines and provide short term economic efficiencies.  By acquiring the robots, the company’s goal is reduce fixed costs by 5% and thereby offer customers even more competitive prices.

 

Israel Vignado, a director at JBS Higiene & Limpeza, says the business unit has already been using technology to improve processes. “Rather than simply updating production lines, the arrival of the robots has increased the level of innovation here. This has all directly affected our employees who are now being trained to operate these new devices”. The executive also explained that investment in employee training is critical in order to make best use of these machines’ abilities.

 

JBS Higiene & Limpeza is the largest producer of soap bars and soaps in the B2B segment.  It produces the base mass for vegetable or animal and glycerin based solid and liquid soaps and has high capacity production lines.  If also makes products from some of Brazil’s largest hygiene and cleaning companies.  The business unit sells its products to over 50 companies nationwide and exports to customers in Nigeria, Cape Verde, Angola, Cuba, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Venezuela and Uruguay.
