Over 600 animals will be taking part in the event, which is being organized
alongside the Northern Brazil Nelore Breeders’ Association (ACNNB)
São Paulo, May 28, 2019 – Over 600 animals will be taking part in the fourth phase of the Nelore Quality Circuit which is being held on May 31 and June 1 at the Friboi unit in Redenção (PA). The Circuit is organized by the Brazil Nelore Breeders’ Association (ACNB), with support from Friboi and Matsuda Sementes e Nutrição Animal. This phase is being organized alongside the Northern Brazil Nelore Breeders’ Association (ACNNB).
The Nelore Quality Circuit assess and supports genetics and meat quality from Nelore cattle to help increase Brazilian farmers’ productivity. The initiative evaluates farmers’ results based on their individual situations and production systems.
“By evaluating the animals involved, livestock breeders are able to better understand the cattle they are breeding, focusing on animal age, weight and fat finishing. This can help improve efficiency across the Nelore production chain, which represents 80% of Brazilian cattle”, said André Locateli, the ACNB”s executive manager.
“The partnership is a win for everyone as it helps strengthen the Nelore business and Brazilian livestock farming in general”, said Fábio Dias, Friboi’s director of Farmer Relations. “The circuit is a great opportunity to showcase the quality of regional production on a national stage”, he added.
Any livestock farmer in the region is eligible to take part in the Nelore Quality Circuit. ACNB members also have an opportunity to slaughter animals as part of the Friboi Natural Nelore Protocol, which offers bonuses of up to R$ 10.50 per arroba based on carcass characteristics and farm eligibility.
This year, the Nelore Quality Circuit has already visited Campo Grande (MS), Pontes e Lacerda (MT) and São Miguel do Guaporé (RO). The fifth phase is scheduled for June 5 and 6 in Araguaína (TO).
