JBS USA ANNOUNCES THOMAS LOPEZ AS PRESIDENT OF PLUMROSE USA

Sao Paulo, January 10, 2018 – JBS USA has selected Thomas Lopez, a former Kraft-Heinz food executive with over 18 year’s industry experience, to lead Plumrose USA, the consumer ready meat business. Lopez will lead the company’s growth and development strategy and will directly supervise operations. 

 

Plumrose USA is known for its food products, including bacon, sliced meats and cold cuts, hams and cooked ribs. It has five facilities making prepared foods – Indiana, Iowa (2), Mississippi and Vermont – and two distribution centers – Mississippi and Indiana. 

 

The appointment of Lopez as president of Plumrose USA is a continuation of the JBS USA strategy to build a team of world-class executives that will grow and strengthen the company as a leading global food supplier, with products and brands recognized by consumers worldwide.

Lopez previously held several positions at Kraft Foods and the Kraft-Heinz Food Company, more recently as president of the Beverages and Snacks Division. He was responsible for the portfolio transformation and strategies of some of Kraft’s biggest brands. During his career at Kraft and Kraft-Heinz, Lopez’s leadership skills saw him elevated to brand manager in 1999, Marketing director in 2009, vice-president of Marketing for Refrigerated Meats in 2012, vice-president of US Growth Channels in 2015, president of Meals and Desserts in 2015 and subsequently president of Beverages and Snacks.

Lopez was born in Kewanee, Illinois and holds a degree in Engineering and Management from the US Military Academy at West Point and a Master’s degree in Engineering and Management from the University of Missouri.
