Sao Paulo, March 19, 2018 – JBS has developed a Labor Lawyer Training Program (Programa Formação de Advogados Trabalhistas – PAT) to help train and develop attorneys to work at JBS plants. As part of the initiative, 11 lawyers will be selected for a highly specific and intensive training course at the company’s headquarters in Sao Paulo, focusing on Employment Law.
Candidates will go through a selection process that involves an online test, online and in-person interviews and a technical exam. The four-month program includes practical on-the-job activities, information about the business and a legal refresher course that includes Constitutional, Civil, Civil Procedure, Employment, Work Safety and other areas of the law.
“The program has been structured in a way that allows new lawyers to focus on getting to know the Company and its various activities, improve their technical knowledge and prepare themselves to take an innovative approach to legal practice”, said Adriano Ribeiro, JBS Legal director. He also noted that the Company needs to train new staff with industry-specific knowledge, focusing on new theories, out-of-the-box thinking and innovation.
The program includes 480 hours of coursework and it will target lawyers who graduated at least a year previously and have passed the bar exam. Placements are available at the Alta Floresta (MT), Barra do Garças (MT), Confresa (MT), Dourados (MS), Marabá (PA), Passo Fundo (RS), Pontes and Lacerda (MT) and Seara (SC) units.
