In the first quarter, the company set a new production record with 170 million cans
São Paulo, June 11, 2018 – JBS Embalagens Metálicas set a new can production record in the first quarter of 2018. Approximately 170 million units were sold over the quarter, up more than 10% on the first quarter of 2017, which held the Company’s previous record. Much of the business unit’s output is concentrated in the interior of Sao Paulo.
The main factors contributing to this result were operational efficiency and investments in people and production lines equipped with cutting edge technology. “Over the past several years, we have invested over R$ 40 million in new production lines, which has played a decisive role in increasing our market share”, said Marcelo Jorcovix, director fo the JBS Embalagens Metálicas.

Increasing the company’s market share in these sectors was a critical factor for performance at the business unit, which has ambitious plans for the future, said Jorcovix. “We expect to be producing a billion cans a year. We also expect the aerosol line to be running at full capacity with the next few months”, he added.
