JBS COUROS ATTENDS AUTOMOTIVE EVENT IN GERMANY

JBS business unit will address sustainability-related issues and the direct impact

on the leather supply chain for the automotive industry

 

Sao Paulo, May 30, 2018 JBS Couros, one of the world’s leading suppliers of leather in the wet-blue, crust and finished stages, will be attending the upcoming ILM Automotive Leather Supply Chain, which is being held on June 4 in Stuttgart, Germany. During the event, Fernando Bellese, Marketing and Sustainability manager at JBS Couros, will be giving a presentation on sustainability throughout the entire leather supply chain.

 

The main issues that will be addressed include: sustainable sourcing, animal welfare, raw material handling, environmental responsibility, traceability and other major topics for the JBS value chain.  “We transform organic materials into high-quality products that are widely used by companies around the world. The automotive leather market offers many opportunities and ongoing investments are important to offer the best solutions that this market requires, always on a sustainable basis”, said Bellese.

 

In Brazil, JBS Couros has the capacity to produce 35.000 hides a day in the wet-blue, crust and finished stages for three distinct segments: automotive, furniture, footwear and leather goods. The company markets its products in all of the main consumer markets and exports its leather to over 50 countries.

 

With 21 production units, distribution centers and commercial offices in North and South America, Europe and Asia, the Company serves a wide variety of markets worldwide. Operations are managed with a high level of control over all processes, which includes a robust traceability system.

 

ILM Automotive Leather Supply Chain will be held during the same week as the Automotive Interiors Show, a major industry event also being held in Stuttgart between June 5 and 8.
