The result is testament to JBS’s commitment to sustainability principles
São Paulo, November 23, 2017 – JBS has been awarded the Paraná Climate Seal for sustainability initiatives in its regional businesses. The seal is awarded by the Department of the Environment and Water Resources for compliance with Paraná State Government rules.
The award was created to encourage companies based in the state to account for their greenhouse gas emissions (GGE) and reduce them. The award will also help prepare industry for Brazil’s adoption of carbon pricing and will support a competitive transition to a more sustainable economy.

In this third year the Seal has been awarded, the participating companies represent 26% of all emission in Paraná. In 2015, the Seal’s first year, declared emissions represented just 7% of all state emissions.
