JBS BIODIESEL SETS SALES RECORD IN 2018

Volume sold through August already higher than the whole of 2017;

Company expects sales to grow 30% by the end of the year.

 

Sao Paulo, September 11, 2018 – JBS Biodiesel sold 47 million liters of biofuel at the L-62 auction held by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) on August 21, selling a total of 226 million liters in 2018. As a result, the company has managed to sell more by August than it sold in the whole of 2017, when it traded 210 million liters. Compared with the same period last year, sales are up 50 million liters.

 

In 2018, the company registered a 30% increase in exports compared with 2015. “We are gaining market share and our differential is the composition of our raw materials, as we reuse waste from across the animal protein chain (beef, chicken and pork tallow) as well as recovered cooking oil”, said Alexandre Pereira, a JBS Biodiesel director.

 

JBS biodiesel has economic benefits for the entire production chain and society, as it is a clean fuel and two-month cost predictability provided by the bimonthly auction model. Additionally, each liter of biodiesel used reduces the need to use a liter of fossil fuel diesel.

 

JBS Biodiesel is currently capable of producing around 310 million liters annually.
