Over 600 animals were assessed during the Circuit’s 4th stage
São Paulo, June 11, 2019 – The Brazilian Association of Nelore Breeders (ACNB) and its North Brazil branch (ACNNB), alongside Friboi and Matsuda Sementes e Nutrição Animal, organized an event on June 1 in Redenção (PA) to present awards to the winners of the 4th stage of the Nelore Quality Circuit, which was held at the local Friboi plant.
“The fourth stage of the 2019 Nelore Quality Circuit assessed 648 animals, 546 males and 102 females. The results confirmed early termination of Nelore carcasses, which is a decisive factor for meat quality and producer profitability. 71.9% of the males had up to four permanent incisors (DIP)” said Nabih Amin El Aouar, ACNB President.
Cicinato Area Leão, the ACNNB president, said animal weights were also one of the highlights during the Redenção stage. “88.6% of the males slaughtered weighed more than 18 arrobas. These figures highlight our contribution to increasing Nelore meat quality and productivity across the region”, he said.
The gold medal for best male carcass lot went to Carlos Alberto Mafra Terra. Maurício Pompeia Fraga took silver and Fazenda Santa Tereza won bronze. The winners for the best female carcass lot were the Sociedade Agropecuária Imaculada Conceição Ltda. (gold), Waldomiro Côrrea (silver) and Rosimeire Aparecida Oliveira Gervásio Ribeiro (bronze). Overall, 12 local cattle breeders competed during this stage of the Nelore Quality Circuit. The gold medal winners received 500 kilos of Matsuda mineral supplements which will be delivered to their farms by the company’s technical experts.
